Tasting Note：A gorgeous bottle that is now singing from the bottle. However, be warned that there is a lot of vintage variation, as there is in the 1997 vintage of Howell Mountain. I have had great bottles as well as mediocre ones. This is the best from a case that I have enjoyed over 15 years. Black tea-leaf, dried black fruits and savory herbs surround a structured, majestic red with velvety firm tannins. Love the intensity and the long length on this wine.
